If you want to use the texts from a worksheet, here's how you can use the SKIES Chunker to extract the texts, translate them, and convert them to a read-aloud card.
Extract the texts from a worksheet
- Click the 3 dots on the bottom right of your card and select Chunk.
- Click the Smaller button on the upper right if you want to zoom out and view the whole page.
- Draw a rectangle around the texts that you want to extract. Make sure the dropdown below the rectangle you created says Regular. You can draw multiple rectangles at a time. It will create one SKIES card per rectangle.
- Click the dropdown on the top middle of the page, then select Extract Text.
- Click Run Chunker on the top right.
Translate the texts
- Click the No Translation button on the upper right of the page.
- Select the language to translate in (e.g. Spanish).
- NOTE: If you want to create a copy of the Spanish version, make sure to copy the card first by clicking the Select button on the bottom of the card, then Copy. To paste, click +Make new card, then Paste.
- To remove translation, click the same button on the upper right and select No Translation.
Convert to read-aloud/Text-to-speech
- Copy the texts that you want to convert to read-aloud.
- Go to Generator. You can either click the Generator button at the top of the page, or click +Make new card > Generator > Reading > Read Aloud.
- Paste the texts in the field, then select the language.
- Click Make Cards.
