SKIES Initial Sound Generator helps students especially during early literacy, as it creates cards with words that share the same initial sound, pictures, and proper word pronunciation. Follow these steps below to create your own initial sound cards:
- Click the Generator button below your Lesson Title or the +Make new card button in the lesson path and click Generator from the dropdown menu.
-
Select Initial Sound Phonics from the Reading folder, indicate the word you want SKIES to use as basis for the initial sound, and set the number of cards you want to generate.
-
You can then modify your CVCs, R-controlled vowels and if you want the words to have silent E at the end.
- Indicate the Fry Word Level where you want the words to be taken from and set if you want your students to respond with audio, video, and/or syllables.
-
Click Make Cards and SKIES will then generate words that share the same initial sound as your given word, with pictures and pronunciation (if enabled).
Initial Sound Word List generator has the same settings, but it generates just a list of words in one card instead of generating one card for each word. It also doesn't have the option to include pictures and pronunciations.
