How to Enable and Use Translation in SKIES

If your class consists of students who also speak a different language and are comfortable learning using their own native language, SKIES comes to the rescue with a translation feature. To enable the feature for the students, please follow these steps:

Selecting Default Languages:

• Go to your Courses page and click the "Edit Pencil" icon next to your course title.
• Go down to where you see different languages and select as many as you can (depending on what languages your students know).
• Click Save and advise your students to refresh their browsers.
• The students will then see the No Translation button at the top and they can select what language to translate all the written text on your lesson.

Note: This method will set the selected languages as default to all lessons under your course.

Adding Languages:

• On your selected lesson, click the No Translation button at the top of the page (beside All Cards).
• Check the boxes next to the language you want to add for the students.
• Advise your students to refresh SKIES and they will then see the additional languages when they click the No Translation button.
